How to BOP!
Greetings Artists,
You are invited to participate in our upcoming group show BOP! which will take place in July through to September at the Dime / Tony Fitzpatrick Projects, here in Chicago.
For this next version of BOP! artists are asked to explore visual rhythmic cadence through the medium of collage. Artwork responses may be in any analog media and may incorporate and combine other materials.
Curatorial prompts for BOP! include:
Be evocative of movement and syncopated rhythm without relying on representational images of dance or music.
Like modern dance and Jazz, the call is for free interpretations that are both improvised and planned.
The dimension required are minimum 4” X 6” (unframed) and maximum 18” X 24” (including frame).
You may submit up to 3 images, however not all pieces will be chosen.
Work must be from this year (2023) and must reflect the parameters of the call.
Submit artwork jpegs, bios and CVs no later than May 7th.
Submissions should include:
• 1-3 images (min. file 300 dpi and max. 3MB).
• Files must be labeled with yourname, the title of the piece and (optional) your Instagram handle. Ex: yourname_collagetitle_instagramtitle.jpg
